Ive been wanting to try this place for a while. My boyfriend and I went at 11am on a Sunday and it was quite busy! It took about 10 minutes to even get our name in the book. We were sat around 11:40 and ate by 12:15. The aesthetic was very pleasing. They have seating outside if you like dining in the sunshine. The bar is very beautiful with wood beam shelves for the alcohol. My boyfriend and I always order two things we both want to try and then split! We got the Crab fried rice that was on special and the biscuits and mushroom gravy with sage sausage. The crab fried rice was delicious. There was lumps of crab meat, so they didnt skimp at all. It was on the mild and sweet side. Although I loved it, it was a flavor I got over quickly. The biscuits and mushroom gravy with sage sausage was our favorite. The biscuits were large and crunchy on the outside while staying moist on the inside. This is a GREAT biscuit for gravy because it didnt get soggy. There are big pieces of mushroom that were delicious as well as leek which added a mild onion flavor that really rounded out the dish. Ordering the sage sausage is a MUST. It was very juicy and flavorful. We both got coffee and it was very enjoyable and included free refills. All in all, the experience was lovely, despite the wait. Our server was very friendly and helped me choose the biscuits and gravy. Im dying to return and try their burger because it looks pretty wonderful. The kimchi hash doesnt sound half bad either! If you are looking for a charming brunch place that will put you in a beautiful mood, look no further!
Quaint restaurant in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids. Breakfast, lunch, brunch items the focus of the menu. Our party tried the omelette (offered French or American style), breakfast sandwich, cinnamon roll, and French toast. English muffins are homemade! All had uniquely modern spins on traditional items. Definitely worth the stop. Lots of different pastry items offered as well as house-made sodas. Fresh squeezed orange and grapefruit juices! Bar items offered as well!
Food: stellarService: greatCame to Grand Rapids for a wedding and stumbled on this spot. Food was amazing, staff was great. I honestly thought this was a local tried and true, been around for a long time type of place - but turns out it's actually somewhat new. The omelet (French style) was perfectly cooked and scrumptious. I wish this was my breakfast every day! The avocado dish is NOT an app - huge portion and SO SO good. Would also love to have this often. Came back day 2 for pastries and the scones were so soft. The short bread is also soft and flaky. Honestly, you can't go wrong with anything here.
2:52 p.m. on a Tuesday and my beautiful daughter's HAD to have breakfast. :-) Called ahead and they kept the breakfast menu open for us. So glad they did. The little bird was delicious and I loved the take on the French toast. Delicious fresh food. Non-typical ingredients and preparation make this place stand out for me. Trust the chef. Thanks
Another one of my favorite brunch places. Its relatively small and fills quickly so expect a short wait if you go during peak time which is usually around 1030-11am from my experience. The bar looks like its out of an English pub. They have a pretty eclectic menu but they also have your standard breakfast fare. Portions are large and pricing is fare. They also have a full bar so if youre looking for a boozy brunch, theyve got you covered.
