I don't think that I can give this place enough praise. I would easily put it in contention for the best food in Grand Rapids. Without a doubt, the most creative and well executed menu I've had. The service has always been impeccable and the prices I found fair. I thought the portions were enough to satiate both myself and my wife. The drink menu was also well crafted and the wine pairings were well done. I also found the lunch to be a great value for a place this delicious. Lastly, the ambiance and dcor were perfect for a dinner of this magnitude. The only bummer really was that there was a wait for a bathroom as there are only two gender neutral single stalls. Am definitely looking forward to my next time here.
Always great. Brought someone that's a little picky who initially turned up her nose but I convinced her to just let me order and try everything. She loved every dish. You really can't go wrong I come away impressed every time I go.
It had been about 1.5 years since we were last at Grove. We came in for restaurant week and were blown away by the flavors and quality of food, and they had great Gluten Free options! In fact, the tacos are some of the best tacos we've had in Grand Rapids, no joke!Last week, I ordered some tacos to go. After mentioning at least 3 times that I needed them to be on the corn tortillas, I was assured that they would be. I didn't even bother to check, assuming it was all good (let's be realistic, these are $20 for 3 tacos, so they should be right). My wife was in hospital with our first child and about to go into labor, we just needed something besides hospital food. I get back to the hospital and guess what? THEY WERE ON FLOUR TORTILLAS! The worst part was that I couldn't leave the hospital as labor had started..."great, we are going hungry", was my first thought.I called Grove and they promptly brought the manager, Nick Fisher, to the phone. I was so blown away by his customer service! Not only did he offer to replace the food that night, he offered to drop it off to us at the hospital! I can easily say that this was the BEST service I have ever received from a restaurant--EVER. What restaurant would actually re-make the food, and then deliver it? Not too many...I loved the food before and always thought the service was good. But to know that the management takes customer service so seriously has made me into a regular. I can't praise the service enough! Thank you!
I went here for brunch and I was not disappointed. The food was flat out amazing as well as the drinks. It is a little more pricey but when you eat the food you will understand why. Great place in east grand rapids to visit. I haven't tried the dinner menu but it is next on the list!
The Grove is a great restaurant! They are pricier than my normal preference, but definitely worth it. I loved that they have both a 'normal' and vegetarian menu. I'm not a huge meat eater, and asked to see both menus. I ended up choosing the vegetarian menu and was not disappointed! It was extremely yummy. My husband (who loves meat) even liked some of my food choices better than his own. I will definitely return!
