As a former restaurant manager in Grand Rapids, I can confidently say that this is the BEST food in town! I've never been disappointed. And neither have my friends. Fantastic craft cocktails with some spins on classics. Amazing liquor selection. Very talented bartenders and serving staff. Highly recommend. I live out of state now, but always make time to stop here when I'm in GR.
A truly impressive restaurant. I've been a few times and the food is near perfect each time. You can't go wrong with the fries or the burger. Seriously, get the burger. Their drinks are well made and they have some really original cocktails. This isn't always the the case at restaurants in GR, which is a solidly beer focused town. To be clear, I'm not saying beer is bad, just saying that a great cocktail is harder to find than a great beer when it come to GR.
Not bad at all! Service leaves a little to be desired.......but overall this place has been pretty consistent. Meatloaf is a clever and delicious variation, bacon appetizer is legit! Great drink selection, good seating! 5 stars if there wasnt always flies buzzing around!!!
Great food, extensive drink options, and excellent service. The waitress that served our table went way above and beyond. Probably the best wait staff I have been served by in all of Grand Rapids!Parking in the area is atrocious, however. Plan on walking, at minimum, a block or so. At worst, the furthest parking lot is three or four blocks away. Butcher Union does not offer a valet service either; handicap accessibility is driven by the aforementioned walking distance.
My visit was during restaurant week, so they were offering a two course prix fixe menu, but both dishes were on the standard menu. Started with the watermelon salad which was refreshing for summer. Had the scallops which were an unexpected delight. The cocktail menu is extensive and this is really a whisky lovers paradise. Cocktails are really the focus here but the dining menu is definitely not an afterthought and shines.
