I had to have a robotic surgery the other day and nothing went smoothly at all. The surgery started almost 3.5 hours late, the dr forgot to order the nerve block for my stomach, I begged them to not let me see the robot and they wheeled me in without sedating me first and I had a panic attack when I saw the robot. They don't tell you anything about having to poo it your body at wierd angles to accommodate the robot. So now I haven't been able to use my right arm for 2 days because of a torn or badly pulled muscle in my shoulder. I would NEVER recommend robotic surgery or Blodgett surgery to anyone. If I could have put negative stars I would have.

ItsVery sad that this hospital is in a beautiful location surrounded by beautiful houses however poor poor staff. First beginning with the nurses. My brother was admitted to ICU a few days ago.The nurses seem to have no knowledge of what is going on. There is poor communication among nurses during the shift change and do not know much about the status of the patient. They have no bed side manner. They do not care for the patient. You have to constantly ask to get something done. For example when my brother started coming to, the wonderful speech therapist, recommended for ice chips to be given thought the day to help with swallowing . We kept asking for ice chips to give to him and they would forget to bring them and take hours after constantly asking. They dont come in to check him often. I dont know who manages this facility but it seemsto be an all-around Characteristic with Just about every person on that floor. My sister myself and my mother were sitting in the room when they wheeled in this machine,They blocked us from getting out of the room and with me being pregnant I asked what they were doing because it looked like an x-ray. I asked the nurse if should I be in the room and she looked at me with a blank stare and the technician said its a chest x-ray.I looked at her and said then I shouldnt be in the room. So they had to haul out this machine back out of the room to let us out. These are very little things out of many that constantly happened at this hospital on the ICU floor. This facility really needs to be reevaluated and re-managed for better employee work ethic. These people do not care about the patient it is just a job for them.I do give this facility a one star because they had an amazing occupational therapist and an awesome speech therapist and neurologist. When they walked in the room they introduced themselves, they said what they were doing and they genuinely cared about my brothers health. I come from a family that has many nurses and I understand its a very hard job and a very unappreciated job but I have never seen the extent of how poorly somebody is treated at until I came to this facility. I really hope that this post helps whoever is reading this to take their loved one elsewhere. Also I forgot to mention this facility is very dated and dirty.

Out of all the hospital in Michigan. Blodgett has to be my top #1s#1since i was a little girl. I can't remember having a unpleasant experience here. Hopefully one day i will be able to get employment opportunities here. I hear really positive things about the management team.

I couldnt speak any higher of Blodgett Hospital. I am very impressed with their people friendliness, quality and service. Actually, I am so curious to know how they can accomplish such a difficult task, considering it is such a critical, difficult and stressful job. Is it because of management, because of the fine hires, the equipment, environment or all these things combined and more? I am especially impressed with the nurses on the third floor, the orthopedic section where my very good friend was treated from a broken hip situation. From a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the best, I would say, they deserve a solid 10. But one person in particular really shined more than everyone else. Her name is Kendra RN. I have never met anybody as competent, professional, caring, kind and friendly. Her heavenly smile and compassionate heart makes you want to get sick just to get her attention. She deserves a 12 or more. Sure way beyond the scale.

Deliriously entering the hospital looking for a loved one I was immediately greeted by Sharon Spicer. She promptly got from behind her desk and warmly greeted me, answer any questions I had and provided me the best path to my destination. I must say her professionalism calmed me. Thank you, Sharon Spicer!
