Met Dr. Drysdale for first time and he was very thorough and spent lots of time explaining things. Dr. Kelley was also very thorough, I feel very confident with both of them, gave them a five star rating, thanks from Deb, Bodhi, and Buffy.
Not Recommended. I adopted a kitten from Kelley's Animal Clinic earlier this summer. The cost of adoption was higher than I expected, but I fell in love with the kitten so I got over it. On the day that I picked him up, I scheduled his next two appointments, and asked lots of questions regarding each appointment, including the cost. Appointment 1 would be vaccinations and would cost approximately $67 and appointment 2 would be front declaw, vaccinations, and neuter and cost approximately $90. When I went in for appointment 1, I waited 30 minutes in a patient room before a doctor came in to spend less than 3 minutes with my kitten. They took him away to administer vaccinations, which I thought was strange, then brought him back and said we were okay to go home. I went to check out and they tried to charge me over $80. I refused to pay $80+ for an appointment that I was told would cost less than $70 (I know not a huge difference, but after being kept waiting, I was not in the mood to be messed with). They adjusted my invoice and I went on my way. This week, I went in for appointment 2. Drop off for surgery is between 7:30a and 8:30a. I arrived before 8am. I was kept waiting for 20 minutes in a patient room. The doctor came in for about a minute, said he was good to go for the procedures, and passed him off to a tech. I was told I would receive a call once he completed the procedures and would be able to pick up by the end of the day. I got a call mid afternoon, and went to pick up when I got out of work. When I arrived I went to the counter to check out and get my kitten. I was told my charges for the appointment were $125. Again, I refused and said that when I adopted him, I was told that the cost for this appointment would be $90. After some back and forth my invoice was adjusted to $90. I got put in a patient room, the tech went over some care instructions with me and I took him home. Once we arrived home, I got him out of his carrier and he began rolling around I noticed some tape on his rear leg. I looked closer and realized that the tape was for his catheter which was still in him. By the time I noticed this, their office was closed. I was really upset by the carelessness shown by leaving a catheter in my 16 week old kitten. I called a different office that was still open and asked for advice. They told me that he would be okay overnight, but to take him back in the morning to get it checked. Overnight, he must have become irritated with the catheter, because by morning he had removed the whole thing, including the tape. I bagged it all up, grabbed him and we returned to the vet. The only positive thing that I have to say regarding this office is my experience this morning. The receptionist today was kind and empathetic to the situation; she apologized and got me in a room immediately and I saw Dr. Drysdale within a minute. Dr Drysdale was kind, concerned and apologetic; he said this is absolutely not supposed to happen. He inspected the site of the catheter for any bruising or other concerns and made sure that my little guy would be ok. He said that everything, including his incision and declaw looked good and said that we were okay to return home. If I ever take my pet back to this office, it will only be if I am guaranteed to see Dr. Drysdale.**UPDATE** I took my cat to his new vet to have his declaw inspected because I was concerned with the scabbing. My new vet spent about a minute with my cat and diagnosed that he has a fairly substantial heart murmur. This was either not detected at Kelley's Animal Clinic, or was kept from me. I cannot urge you enough to not use this clinic for adoption or treatment.
We've been coming to this office for our two dogs for years and have been so happy with them. They have been awesome about giving us advice over the phone and some suggestions on what we can do at home so we don't have to spend the money if it's not needed. They work with us and truly care that our pups are getting the best care!
Knowledgeable vets and vet techs, always friendly with my scared dogs
We love Dr Drysdale! The quality of care is worth the little extra there. No unnecessary testing. No pressure to buy products. Just good veterinary care.
