went here around my birthday and it was really fun. its exhibit was pretty amazing and it even had a thing going on where people from other cultures and places had tables set up to show a glimps of what it was like. pretty amazing in here. i loved it.

The Grand Rapids Public Museum is a great place to learn about local history. The first floor has the streets of Grand Rapids. It depicts what the city looked like in its early days with store fronts and other business. They have a very nice historical furniture collection on the second floor. There is also a very cool steam engine that was used to drive wood working equipment. The third floor has animals ,new comers and an Indian exhibit. The planetarium is also worth checking out along with the pipe organ in Meijer theater (check for scheduling )

Great fun and about 2 hrs if u take your time looking at and experience the diff exhibits Museum does not have a lot of GR history but there is some and its interesting 3 trick/hints/suggestions 1 ask if there are any exhibits that the entry fee does not cover...they have those on 3rd floor2 take elevator to 3rd floor and slowly work your way back down to entrance. 3 slow down relax and look around there is much to see and experience and u n the kiddos will walk out the door with more depth and knowledge then when you walked in the door Grand Rapids Rocks! M

We love Grand Rapids public museum, and so do our kids! They have wonderful volunteers in the old town and wood carving areas. Our toddlers loved the star show in the theater. We have been several times now and always seem to find something new to see.

Great museum with a lot of exhibits that rotate with new content, and classics to learn about the area and it's heritage. The Roger B. Chaffe planetarium is a great attraction too if you are into space and sciences, though some shows can be a bit slower than others. I find ones fully professionally narrated to be more captivating.
